- Ewing Christian College
Ewing Christian College is one of the oldest colleges established in
India . It was an initiative of the East India Company. At that time, it was named as Vernacular school. In the mean time, its governance got shifted to the Presbyterian Church. In 1910, it was called as Allahabad Christian College.In 1903 many undergraduate offerings were initiated. However, in 1922, on the account of a new university act, school lost its college status. In 1935, it stated offering classes in a coeducational set up. In 1950, after the permission of
Allahabad University , classes for degree students began and once again it acquired college status. More recently in 1995, it achieved its autonomous status institution in India which could offer its own examinations under the affiliation with Allahabad University.The former principals
