Universities Admissions Centre

The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) is the central office that receives and processes applications for admission to most undergraduate degree, advanced diploma, diploma and associate diploma courses at the participating institutions in ACT and NSW. UAC also processes applications for admission to a number of postgraduate courses at participating institutions. UAC is repsonsible for issuing a Universities Admission Index (UAI) which is awarded to students on the completion of HSC.

The following applicants may apply for an undergraduate course through UAC

* Australian citizens
* New Zealand citizens
* Permanent residents of Australia:
* Holders of an Australian permanent resident humanitarian visa
* Deferred applicants: Applicants who were granted a deferment in semester 1 2007 may be able to apply through UAC to commence their deferred course in semester 2 2007. If the deferred course is listed in the course search, you are advised to contact the institution that has granted the deferment for advice on whether you can be accepted on the basis of your deferment to their course in semester 2 2007, or whether you need to re-apply through UAC to compete on merit for mid-year intake to that course.
