- Bassoon sonata
A bassoon sonata is a sonata for
bassoon , often withpiano accompaniment. Sonatas written for bassoon were relatively uncommon until the second half of the twentieth century. Occasionally, sonatas written for bassoon are also able to be performed oncello . The twentieth century also saw a greater proliferation of sonatas for solo bassoon and sonatas for bassoon in variousduet s with other instruments (such ascello oroboe ).
