Tursdale

Tursdale

Tursdale is a hamlet in County Durham, England. It is situated a short distance to the west of Coxhoe, a few miles south of Durham. It is part of the civil parish of Cassop-cum-Quarrington and the City of Durham district.

Tursdale has been proposed as a suitable site for a road-rail freight interchange due to its proximity to both the East Coast Main Line, the mothballed Leamside Line and the A1(M) motorway.

Currently only 1 street of housing, Ramsay Street, remains although a second street, School Street, was demolished in the late 60's / early 70's. The school closed in the 60's.
