synonyms = The Yellow-eared Woodpecker ("Veniliornis maculifrons") is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is endemic to humid Atlantic forest in eastern Brazil. Its common name refers to the yellow nape of both sexes - a feature not shared by any other "Veniliornis" in its range.
