Toft Hill is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated on the A68, a few miles to the west of Bishop Auckland, next to the village of High Etherley. A Viking settlement (Toft Hill means Hill Hill) it saw most expansion during the increase of open cast mining. Most of its major buildings, the church and school all date back to the Victorian period of affluence.
