History
In construction stages of this station, the station was named West Kowloon Station (Chinese: 西九龍站).
As this station was proposed as the terminus of the unbuilt
East Kowloon Line , there is a reserved confined space under the Tung Chung Line platform. The space is not used due to the alignment was changed and theKowloon Point (to the south-east of the station) Reclamation Scheme was shelved. In the future, when the
Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link was completed, passengers can walk to theWest Kowloon Terminus , the terminus of the rail link, to take the rail link.Neighbouring stations
