Ethel Stephenson was the first female attorney in
Okfuskee County, Oklahoma and in 1923 was appointed City Attorney of the Village of Pharoah in Oklahoma, in June of the same year she was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Oklahoma."And Justice for All: The Legal Profession in Oklahoma, 1821-1989" Orben J. Supreme Court of the United States .From 1924 to 1935, Ethel Stephenson was the attorney of record with Logan Stephenson on 13 cases dealing with a variety of legal issues such as trusts, guardianships, assault and battery, and breach of contract for the sale of land.
