- Greek National Road 27
Greek National Road 27 is a highway linking Itea, Amfissa and Lamia. The south to north highway is divided into two sections, the Itea and Amfissa Highway and the Amfissa - Lamia Highway. It is now the only highway linking
Patras and the westernPeloponnese and Central, Northcentral and Northern Greece including Lamia,Larissa andThessaloniki (via GR-1/E75). The highway unofficially begins in Agios Nikolaos with a joint with GR-48. The highway actually begins in Itea with a joint with GR-48. It passes into the valley which extends into Amfissa. North of Amfissa passes into the mountains with curvy roads for the rest of the length and ahs a junction with GR-3. The highway runs again into the curvy roads and into the pass of about 1,000 m high. It runs into another valley with curvy roads and ends with GR-1/E75 which is now the old highway with the interchange in the south. Further east is the junction with the new GR-1/E75. There may be a by-pass of Amfissa but it is not planned. It runs in the prefectures ofPhokida andFthiotis .*Length: about 120 km
