Peter Kakos (29 August1977—16 May2006) was a Melbourne-born Greek-Australian football (soccer) player whose career was primarily centred around the Victorian Premier League as well as the National Soccer League with Gippsland Falcons during the 1999/2000 season.

24 hours after Oakleigh Cannons defeated Whittlesea Zebras on 14 May2006, Peter Kakos died, twelve weeks short of his 29th birthday. After having been found unconscious at work, he was rushed to a Melbourne hospital where he died six days later in the early hours of Tuesday 16 May2006.
