Jaipur School

Jaipur School is a K-12 private school in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India , which was started in 1979 by Jaipur School Samiti, a non profit, non-minority group , which was registered in 1980 in Rajasthan state of India to promote education among all classes of people in the state in English, Hindi and other languages.

The founder secretary was Major N.K. Sharma (retired and alumnus of India's elite military school Rashtriya Indian Military College and India's foremost military colleges National Defense Academy and Indian Military Academy ) and in later years school principals included Mrs Mathew, Mrs Malti Rao, Mrs Nafeesa Dehlvi, Mrs Satvinder Kaur, Mrs Sirohi, and currently Mrs Rekha Narula - reflecting the secular ethos of the group amidst adherence to Indian culture and tradition. The school is providing secular, modern education as per the curriculum of C.B.S.E. Central Board of Secondary Education, and is providing spiritual education as per blessings of various Hindu gurus such as ISKCON's , Ramakrishna Mission's and Chinmaya Mission's.

In the beginning it had classes KinderGarten (K.G.) to 3rd grade/class and has now evolved into a K-12 school (for student of age 3 years and up). The school was affiliated to Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education for many years and subsequently in 2005 got affiliated to the CBSE. It continues to have permanent recognition from the Department of Education, Government of Rajasthan. The school has produced many toppers of the state board exams and many merit scholars of the CBSE's. Many students have gone on to join Harvard University,University of Chicago,Cardiff University, Indian Institutes of Technology,National Defence Academy (India), and many other engineering, medical , defense, liberal arts and business management programs. The alumni have spread out not only across India but throughout the globe - in far flung places including New Zealand, Australia, and the U.S.A.

The school campus is spread over approximately convert|2|acre|m2 of land (10,000 square yards surrounded by convert|6|acre|m2 of public parkland) - allotted by the Jaipur Development Authority at a subsidized rate (subsidized rate is only for reputed, longstanding, nonprofit educational institutions [ List of schools allotted land in Jaipur at subsidized rate in 1989/1990, Jaipur Development Authority, India ] . The school has facilities for various sports including gymnastics, volleyball, baseball, judo-karate, athletics and for extra-curricular activities including drama, dance , elocution , creative writing and science exhibitions (which display experiments, science phenomena charts and models etc). English speaking is compulsory for students of grade 3 and upwards.

The school is headed by Major N.K. Sharma (retired) as the director and Mrs Rekha Narula as the principal.
