Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, located in Jaipur, India and named after Gayatri Devi, is one of the oldest girls' school of Rajasthan. It was established in 1943 and is popularly known as MGD School. It was the first Girls’ Public School to be accepted as member of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (I.P.S.C.). In 1950, it was affiliated to CBSE. The founder principal of the school was Ms. L.G. Lutter. The present principal of the school is Mrs. G.D.Bakshi. The school completed 60 years of its existence in the year 2003. The school is near Ajmeri gate in the heart of the city of Jaipur. The school has students from all parts of India. It has students studying from standard 1 to 12. The students are divided in four houses named after four great women achievers: Madame Curie, Helen Keller, Florence Nightingale and Sarojini Naidu.
The school has boarding facilities as well. The sutdents are divided in eight hostels according to the class they study in. Students in class 1-4 go to Anand A and Anand B, class 5 to Lilian Hurst (named after the founder principal, Ms. L.G. Lutter), class 6 to Ashyana, class 7-9 to Geetanjali A and Geetanjali B, class 10-11 to Deepshikha and class 12 to Indira Bhawan, named after the mother of Rajamta Gayatri Devi.
