Cybernet Worlds

Cybernet Worlds or CNW, the 3D chat universe, is a mecca for tourists and citizens alike. It is the second offshoot of Active Worlds, next to Outer Worlds being the first. It has currently been active for six years. Cybernet Worlds is a family friendly environment and safe for kids of all ages.

3D Experience

Cybernet Worlds currently uses the 4.1 version of the Active Worlds Browser. The user is allowed to walk around and chat with other users in a pure 3D environment. If the user wishes, he/she may teleport to another world and chat with users in that world. If the user is given specific rights in that world then the user would be able to build or do other interesting things in that world.

Games

Along with 3D chatting and building, Cybernet Worlds offers many weekly games. Some of the games played are Bingo, Trivia, and Alphabet Soup, as well as Clues. Other worlds may also offer games like Chess and Checkers.

Building

Because Cybernet Worlds is based on the Active Worlds browser, building can be done by anyone. Lower Skill members can easily use their mouse to make masterpieces while Higher Skill members can insert codes into their objects and make their works of art move and do other interesting and amusing creations.

Tourists and Citizens

Tourists

When on Cybernet Worlds for the first time, the user is a Tourist. These users have a choice of a Male and Female avatar. Their text in the chat box will appear in grey. Tourists may not be allowed access to specific worlds and can not have all of the features as Citizens do.

Citizenship

At any time a Tourist may pay a small fee and be allowed extra features that Tourists aren't allowed. Some of these features are as followed:

  • Personal Reserved Name
  • Contacts list and telegramming (messaging)
  • Citizens that paid for Annual or Lifetime membership can get a free world for one year
  • A selection from about 255 avatars per each world depending on the world
  • Citizen Builds are permanent and cannot be deleted by other members.
