Tower of London , just outside the limits of theCity of London in theLondon Borough of Tower Hamlets . Formerly it was part of the Tower Liberty under the direct administrative control of Tower.Belonging to one of the oldest parts ofLondon , archeological evidence shows that there was a settlement on the hill in theBronze Age and much later a Roman village that was burnt down during theBoudicca uprising.The church
All Hallows-by-the-Tower is renowned for fragments of Romanesquearchitecture dating back to the year680 .Public executions of high-profile criminals were carried out on the hill.
