- Saab 9-6X
The Saab 9-6X was to be a Saab-branded
automobile based on theSubaru B9 Tribeca CUV. Lighter and more carlike than many truck based SUVs, it was to compete with theVolvo XC90 . WhenGeneral Motors sold their share of Subaru's parent,Fuji Heavy Industries in October of2005 , development of the 9-6X was cancelled. It has been stated from Subaru insiders that the styling of the 9-6X was reused in Subaru's 2007 refresh of the Tribeca.Sources have stated that the Saab 9-6X might have used GM's new Lambda CUV platform had the project been pursued. This is the same platform that is used to build the
Saturn Outlook ,GMC Acadia ,Buick Enclave andChevrolet Traverse .The Saab 9-6X name is not to be confused with the
Saab 96 , a car produced between1960 and1980 .References
