Ryan has spent most of his British career with the
Peterborough Panthers and although until recently he had not ridden in Britain since 2006, as of August 2008 he returned to ride for Peterborough until the end of the current season. He has also ridden for thePoole Pirates but returned to the Panthers on a full transfer in 2006.He is also currently riding in Sweden (Piraterna Motala), Poland (Unibax Torun) and Russia (Togliatti).
peedway Grand Prix
Ryan was a Grand Prix rider from 1998 until 2005, having won four Grand Prix meetings. In the
2002 Speedway Grand Prix series he won the British and Slovenian meetings and in the2003 Speedway Grand Prix series he won the Swedish and Scandinavian meetings.In September 2008, having made it through the qualifying round after coming in as a last minute replacement, Ryan will ride in the GP Challenge in Zielona Gora, Poland, to try to qualify for the 2009 Grand Prix series.
Early Years
As a child, Ryan played Australian Rules Football but became interested in speedway when it became obvious that he was not of the ideal build to be a professional footballer. Aged 19, having gained a motor mechanic qualification in Australia, he came over to Britain to ride for Peterborough.
