While at CCNY, was active on-air on WCCR (City College Radio) and was a host of their College Forum program which also aired on WOR-FM(99X) Sunday mornings and interviews included David Brenner, George Carlin, Rodney Dangerfield, The Beach Boys, Robert Klein, 1973 NYC Mayorial candidates Mario Biaggi, Albert Blumenthal, and John Marchi, and others.
Career in Television & Home Video Production
In 1974, began career working in television production at Metromedia Television (now Fox Television) at 205 East 67th St. NYC as a "page" for Wonderama w/ Bob McAllister, the David Susskind Show, Midday Live, Sports Extra w/ Lee Leonard, Bill Mazer and Jerry Izenberg, then head page, production assistant, associate / line producer. Left WNEW-TV for a brief time in 1975 for a position with Bob Stewart Productions ($10,000 Pyramid, Jackpot) short-lived ABC-TV game show, Blankety-Blanks hosted by Bill Cullen, and returned to WNEW as Assistant to Wonderama host Bob McAllister. Aside from working on Wonderama, also booked McAllister's personal appearances and traveled the country on weekends with Bob, assisting him in performing Wonderama LIVE for various Charities, including Women's American ORT and corporations including IBM.
Relocated to Los Angeles, CA in November, 1977 and continued a career in television and live-event production with Sam Riddle at Bob Banner Associates, and then the Home Video industry. Production credits in various positions as Production Coordinator, Associate Producer and Producer on television and home video programs starring notables including Paul Anka, Jerry Lewis, Perry Como, David Steinberg, Luciano Pavarotti, Ann-Margret, Charlton Heston, Oak Ridge Boys, Gatlin Brothers, Liberace, Neil Sedaka, Regis Philbin, Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, Steve Wariner, Nancy Sinatra, Tony Orlando, Lou Rawls, L.A. Lakers, Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus, Almost Anything Goes Water Ski Show at Sea World in Orlando, San Diego & Ohio, Lou Ferrigno, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Sgt. Slaughter, Sybil Danning, among others.
In the early 1980s, produced (13 weeks) Hollywood Teen (Don Spielvogel Productions and Harrison-Feeney Associates and the ABC Owned & Operated station group), a Saturday morning talk-show for teenagers starring James Vincent (Jimmy) McNichol. Also produced for Hunt-Jaffe Productions(Gary Hunt & Barry Jaffe) Singles Magazine (MetroMedia Producers Corp.) starring Paul Ryan, and Battle of The Video Games at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Also in the early 1980s, founded Spielvogel-Feigenbaum Productions (along with partner Joel Feigenbaum) for the purpose of producing and booking the Teen Beat Tour (founded by Sam Riddle & Tony Hobson) - featuring TV's most popular teen stars in weekend appearances at various Disney venues, Six Flags Parks, and other theme parks around the U.S. Teen idol stars were selected based upon availability to travel and included regulars Scott Baio (Happy Days), Lou Ferrigno (Incredible Hulk), Greg Evigan (BJ & The Bear), Willie Aames (Eight Is Enough), Nancy McKeon (Facts of Life), Phil McKeon (Alice), Stephen Shortridge (Welcome Back Kotter), Leif Garrett, Susan Richardson (Eight is Enough), Shirley Hemphill (What's Happening), Donnie Most (Happy Days), Todd Bridges (Diff'rent Strokes) and others. The Teen Beat Tour was extremely well received in the many cities it played over two years.
Career in the Home Video & Music Industries, & QVC
In the late 1980s, embarked on a career path in sales & marketing in the home video (DVD) industry with Family Home Entertainment, LIVE Entertainment (Jose Menendez), Celebrity Home Entertainment, and a number of "start-up" labels.
Relocated back to the East Coast in 8/92, accepting a position as VP Sales & Marketing at Lightyear Entertainment (owned by industry executive Arnie Holland), a BMG distributed record and home video label. Over the next few years, Lightyear changed its distribution channels to WEA (Warner / Elektra / Atlantic) Distribution and Warner Home Video. Remained with Lightyear until mid-1999. Over those years, had the opportunity to work with music notables such as Herbie Mann, Janita, Goat, Jason Miles, Pete Best, The Broadway Kids, Rosenshontz, the late Gary Rosen & Bill Shontz, Melba Moore and Warren G, and personalities that include Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Chris Webber, and Ron Artest,
Relocated to Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1999 having accepted a position at QVC in West Chester, PA as Director of Sales & Marketing for Atlantic Records distributed Q Records. In 2001, created Q Video (WEA) and aligned that new QVC division to be the exclusive distributor for Major League Baseball produced VHS and DVDs from 2001 through the 2004 MLB season.
In 2004, accepted a position at NYC-based Razor & Tie as Director of Video, but later that year returned to Lightyear Entertainment as VP, Sales & Marketing.
In 2007 accepted a position as VP of Sales for VDI Entertainment, a short-lived start-up home video label based in Los Angeles, distributed by Koch Distribution, Uni Records and Allegro Media Group and in 2008, became Director, Video Sales of Portland, Oregon based Allegro Media Group.
