Hans Lucas was a pseudonym used by
Jean-Luc Godard when writing criticism during the 1950s forAndré Bazin 's magazine "Cahier du Cinéma", as well as for the magazine Godard founded during this time, "Gazette du Cinéma".The name Hans Lucas was also used in the credits of the 1955 film "
Une femme coquette ". Godard produced, directed, and acted in the film as Jean-Luc Godard, but wrote the screenplay, photographed and edited under the name Hans Lucas.Cultural references
The Chicago math rock band
90 Day Men wrote and recorded a song entitled "Hans Lucas" that pays homage to Godard for their 2000 album "(it (is) it) critical band".References
