Ejler Andreas Christoffer Jorgensen, whose first name is sometimes spelled “Eiler” and whose last name is sometimes spelled “Jørgensen”, was a landscape and portrait painter. He was born in
Roskilde, Denmark , in 1838 and was professionally active in San Francisco in the 1870s. Ejler signed some of his paintings “Chris Jorgensen”, but should not be confused with the American-born painter of landscapes, missions, and marine scenes,Christian August Jorgensen (1860-1935). Ejler painted in Hawaii in 1875. He died inOakland, California in 1876.The
