"Hydrophylax raniceps" is a species of frog in the Ranidae family. It was long known as "Rana chalconota" in error; that name refers to a related parapatric species. It is found in Brunei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and possibly Myanmar.Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, plantations , rural gardens, heavily degraded former forest, irrigated land, and seasonally flooded agricultural land.
