Wolverine Hotel (Detroit)

Wolverine Hotel (Detroit)

The Wolverine Hotel, also known as Hotel Wolverine was a hotel in Detroit [ [http://www.angelfire.com/de2/detroitpix/WolverineHotel.html DetroitPix ] ] , near Grand Circus Park. It was imploded in early 1997 [ [http://science.howstuffworks.com/building-implosion2.htm Howstuffworks "How Building Implosions Work" ] ] . Contrary to common belief, the hotel was not demolished for Comerica Park, but for a parking lot, leading to the thought of some that its demolition was unnecessary.

Coincidentally, many members of the Detroit Tigers team, such as Al Kaline had lived at the Wolverine Hotel before later settling into their own homes.
