- Jiménez Canton
Jiménez is the name of the fourth canton in the province of Cartago in
Costa Rica . The canton covers an area of 286.43 km² [Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), 2001.] , and has a population of 14,934 [Estimates of Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC), May 2003.] . The capital city of the canton isJuan Viñas .The Río Turrialba forms the northern boundary of the canton of Jiménez, with the Río Reventazón and Río Atirro establishing the eastern border and the Río Pejibaye delineating a major portion of the canton's border on the west.
The canton of Jiménez is subdivided into 3 distritos (districts).
