"Sigapatella superstes" is a species of medium-sized sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Calyptraeidae, the slipper shells and their allies.

Distribution

This species is endemic to northern New Zealand.

hell description

The shell is roundly ovate, with the rather low apex at about one-fourth diameter from the periphery. Sculpture consists of closely spaced concentric growth folds, crossed by dense spiral threads, producing a scale-like or granulose surface.

The shell coloration is light brownish-buff externally, with the underside whitish.

The shell height is up to 12 mm, and width 28 mm.
