Zero-emission rocket propulsion

Zero-emission rocket propulsion

Zero-emission rocket propulsion is rocket propulsion that uses 'emissionless', non-polluting fuels. This is possible through the use of hydrogen, and hydrogen peroxide-rocket engines as well as the use of biofuels or Nuclear thermal rocket engines.

Several zero-emission rocket mixtures exist, e.g. 68% hydrogen peroxide mixed with bioethanol.

Note that atmospheric nitrogen is combusted in the exhaust wake of rockets and nitrogen compounds are still created.
