Sean Cameron Michael (b.
December 24 ,1969 ) is a South African actor, writer and singer. A native English speaker, he is also fluent in Afrikaans.Early life
Michael was born in
Cape Town . After completing high school he did his two years compulsory National Service as an infantryman in theSouth African Defence Force inPotchefstroom . After a number of part-time jobs (including being a waiter, chef and working for Telkom) he decided to become a full time actor and singer.Acting career
After studying speech and drama for three years with Rita Maas-Phillips (RADA) in Cape Town, he performed in a number of theatre productions for Artscape, including "The King & I" as Louis, "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Sound of Music". He then moved to
Johannesburg . He became the TV presenter of the educational/entertainment programme, "Teleschool" (today known as Take 5) for two years on SABC 1,2,3 and NNTV. He continued at the broadcaster as a scriptwriter, writing for "Teleschool", "Tshisimane", "Bongani's Biotic Boost" and a number of corporate videos. He then landed the recurring role of the baddie drug dealer, Brett, in M-Net's "Egoli - Place of Gold" which first put him in the South African spotlight. This was followed by theatrical performances in "On The Open Road" with Marius Weyers and two seasons of "Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Sean relocated back to his hometown, Cape Town where he still lives today. Sean has also worked as a freelance casting assistant, most recently on "The Deal" starring William H.Macy and Meg Ryan. (Sean also worked on the movie as Mr Macy's personal stand-in and photo double).Over the past 15 years he has performed in a number of local and international TV and film productions, including:
