San Francisco Bay Area . It is known as the western poppy or fire poppy. Its bloom is a brilliant dark orange, and sometimes reddish or yellowish. It grows on a long, hairy stem. This flower easily colonizes disturbed areas, especiallychaparral habitats which have recently burned.External links
