Henry Panion, III is an American composer, arranger, conductor, educator, and Professor in the Department of Music at the
University of Alabama at Birmingham . He holds degrees in music education and music theory from Alabama A & M University and the Ohio State University, respectively. Panion is most known for his work as conductor and arranger for superstarStevie Wonder , for whose performances and recordings he has led many of the world’s most notable orchestras, including theRoyal Philharmonic Orchestra , theBolshoi Theater Orchestra , theBirmingham (England) Symphony , theOrchestre de Paris , theMelbourne Symphony , theRio de Janeiro Philharmonic , theRa’anana Philharmonic , theNice Symphony , theGothenburg Symphony , and theBoston Pops Orchestra .
