Louisiana Distinguished Civilian Service Award

The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Civilian Service Medal will be awarded by the Adjutant General upon recommendation of the awards board to a civilian who has rendered exceptionally meritorious service in furthering the security and welfare of the State. The performance must be as to merit recognition for service that is clearly exceptional.

The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Service Medal shall be of bronze, 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The obverse will bear the Seal of the Louisiana National Guard, together with the inscription "Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Civilian Service." The reverse will bear the Minuteman, a missile emblematic of the Army National Guard and an aircraft emblematic of the Air National Guard, surrounded by a wreath.

The medal shall be suspended from a forest green ribbon, 1 3/8 inches wide bearing three 1/8 inch gold vertical stripes.

The service ribbon shall be of the same color combination as the dress ribbon measuring 1 3/8 inches by 3/8 inches. (LAARNG Regulation 600-8-22)

The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Service Medal was awarded to Mrs. Michelle Jester by Major General Bennett C. Landreneau on June 28, 2007. (Permanent Order # 179-003)
