- Folsom Boulevard
Folsom Boulevard is a major arterial in
Sacramento County, California . Its western terminus is at Alhambra Boulevard in midtown Sacramento and its eastern terminus is at Greenback Lane in Folsom. The actual road, however, runs from the state capitol in Sacramento to the city of Auburn in Placer County and has various changes of name along the way. The section known as Folsom Boulevard primarily runs in an east-west direction. It is named after the city ofFolsom .Route
Folsom Boulevard starts in midtown Sacramento, runs through eastern Sacramento and eventually runs through unincorporated parts of the county such as
La Riviera andRosemont . It eventually runs through the city ofRancho Cordova and into Folsom. For much of its route, it runs nearly parallel with U.S. Route 50 and was that highway's alignment before thefreeway was built.Light Rail
The Gold Line of Sacramento Regional Transit's light rail line runs along Folsom Boulevard. Several stations are located along the corridor. They are the
College Greens (Sacramento RT) station, the Watt/Manlove station, the Starfire station, the Tiber station, the Butterfield station, the Mather Field/Mills station, the Zinfandel station, the Cordova Town Center station, the Sunrise station, and the Hazel station.Destinations
Sacramento State University is the major destination on this corridor. Other destinations of note are the East Lawn Memorial Cemetery and Granite Park.Major Intersections
