KGLI (95.5 FM, "KG95") is a radio station broadcasting a hot adult contemporary format. The station serves Sioux City, Iowa, and is owned by Clear Channel Communications.

History

KGLI signed on with a Top 40 (CHR) format as "KG95" in 1983. The station remained a Top 40 station until tweaking to hot adult contemporary on March 13, 2006 when co-owned adult contemporary KSFT-FM switched to Top 40 as "KISS 107". KG95 has been a consistent leader in their core demo of woman 25-54 during their 25 year presence in Sioux City.

On-air personalities

Current notable weekday personalities include long-time morning show Mark and Rita, midday host Ryan Reid, afternoon host Sean D., and night jock Bart McCoy.

Mark Hahn has been at KG95 since 1983, Rita joined Mark on air in 1989. Bart McCoy has been with the staff off and on since the early 90s, he did a brief across town at KZSR. Ryan Reid joined the staff in the summer of 2005 after leaving the afternoon position at across town country station KSUX, he was promoted to Program Director in 2006 after Rob Powers was promoted to OM of the Clear Channel Sioux City Cluster, and Program director of KISS 107. Sean D. joined the KG95 family in the summer of 94 till 2000 and jumped ship to KZSR. KZSR along with sister station KKYY was sold to Powell Broadcasting January 1, 2007 and Sean D. came back to KG95. Weekend host, Kevin Wolff, has been with KG95 off and on since 1997, and hosts the Saturday Night Request Party (SNRP.) SNRP is a 5 hour live, local request show consisting mainly of 80s and 90s hits.

Weekends

KG95 currently does not have any live or voice tracked disc jockeys during the bulk of the weekends. They currently use the slogan of More Music Weekends and run only liners, sweepers, and promos. On Saturday nights, they have a live request show, SNRP, and Sunday mornings the play syndicated programs Sonrise, and Backtrax USA, Sunday evenings they run American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest.
