- Siege of Bari
The siege of Bari took place 1068–71, during the
Middle Ages , when Norman forces under the command ofRobert Guiscard laid siege to the city ofBari , a major stronghold of theByzantine s in Italy, in August 5, 1068. Aided by the Norman fleet that blockaded the city's port, Bari was captured on April 16, 1071 when Robert Guiscard entered the city.References
