Ulla Taalasmaa

Ulla Taalasmaa (née Tuomi) is a fictional character in the Finnish soap-opera Salatut elämät. She was played by Maija-Liisa Peuhu and appeared as a regular character in the series from 1999-present.Ulla is a fairly inquisitive house wife, and as such is usually the first to become aware of, and share, rumours and gossip. She often imposes herself in trying to solve the problems of others, even when they are none of her business. Ulla's behavior has irritated many residents of the house, and many aren't very praising of Ulla because of this. However, Ulla is basically a very kind-hearted person and intends no harm. Ulla is 62-years-old curious mistress of the house.

At the end of spring in 2006, Riku ran-over Ulla in his car while intoxicated, she was badly injured and ended up in hospital. Riku himself died from injuries sustained in the accident. Ulla's ex-husband, Seppo Taalasmaa then took care of Ulla in their old home. Ulla eager to recover, practiced her leg exercises regularly, but sometimes too egregiously.

In spring 2007, at the launch party of her new book, Ulla arrived wearing a wedding gown and accompanied by a priest, she then publicly proposed to Seppo, but Seppo turned her proposal down. Feeling disappointed, upset and rejected, Ulla decided to move away from Pihlajakatu and live with her sister in Kankaanpää. 23 May 2007 Ulla left the series moving to the country to live with her sister.
