Isilda Pelicano

Isilda Pelicano (born 1949) is a Portuguese fashion designer.

She was born in Alfaiates, Portugal and received her fashion design degree from the IADE Instituto de Artes Visuais, Design e Marketing in Lisbon.

Since 1991, Pelicano has been presenting her women's ready-to-wear collections under the brand name [http://www.isildapelicano.com Isilda Pelicano] . She has since become one of Portugal's leading fashion designers and personalities and is consistently featured in Portugal's top newspapers and publications. In 2006 she was voted as the best fashion personality in Portugal by the readers of Lux Magazine. Pelicano is also noted for designing the dress of supermodel and actress Laetitia Casta for the 1999 Cannes Film Festival.

In addition to her ready-to-wear collections, Isilda Pelicano has also developed significant work in the area of uniform design. She previously had design and supply contracts with Portugal Telecom and the UEFA Euro 2004. Most recently, Isilda Pelicano has been awarded the assignment of designing and producing the official UEFA Euro 2008 uniform, which will be held in Austria and Switzerland.

Her company, Isilda Pelicano Design e Moda Lda, is based in Lisbon while its international division is based in New York City.
