Sean Martin (musician)

Sean Martin is a bass guitarist from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

He started his career playing in The Starjets in 1976, covering such songs as The Archies Sugar Sugar, and Please Please Me by The Beatles. They relocated to London in 1977, and eventually signed a contract with Epic Records. Their first release for Epic was due to be Here She Comes Again, in December 1978, however, this was shelved, and the first release was in fact January 1979's It Really Doesn't Matter. In March 1979, they released Run With The Pack.

In the summer of 1979, they released the single Ten Years, on the back of which they toured with both The Tubes and Stiff Little Fingers. Later that year they released their debut album God Bless The Starjets. In November 1979 they released Schooldays (which had previously been the b. side of one of their singles) as a single in its own right, and in March 1980 they released their last single Shiraleo. After a change of name to Tango Brigade, and some personnel changes they released the single Donegal. However they split up shortly after. In 1983 Martin joined Jake Burns and the Big Wheel, which lasted until Burns decided to reform Stiff Little Fingers in 1987.
