Visalakshi Nityanand

Visalakhi Nityanand is a prominent Indian Carnatic music vocalist. She is the daughter and disciple of Late Trivandrum R.S. Mani.Visalakshi Nityanand is the daughter and disciple of Trivandrum.Sri.R.S.Mani a senior disciple of Semmangudi.Sri Srinivasa Iyer. She had the opportunity to learn from Semmangudi himself.

Her quest for music continued with Trivandrum Sri.R.Venkatraman and Sri.T.K.Govinda Rao, which lead her to evolving a distinct style of her own. The style incorporates her ideas of sound observed and absorbed over the years.

She has developed a distinctive "bani" or style which transports the listener to a higher spiritual realm. Her full-throated singing style leaves very little room for slippage on swaras. It is a very enjoyable experience to listen to Ms. Visalakshi's kutcheris.
