Aaro Vaalanne

Aaro Vaalanne is a fictional character in the Finnish soap series "Salatut elämät". He is played by Teemu Lehtilä. Aaro Vaalanne was in serie in the production periods 2004–2006. The character came back to the series in the spring–autumn 2007. Aaro died on the day of his wedding to Laura.

Aaro and Laura

Aaro and Laura Kiviranta bumped into each other in a Chinese restaurant. There he offered to buy her lunch. Subsequently Aaro asked Laura to go out with him, but Laura declined gave her hastes as an excuse. However, Aaro sent a family lunch to Laura, and she was very thankful for that. When Laura in a short time invited him to tea, he won her sympathies by telling her about his ex-wife and child. Hovewer, Laura took fright at her feelings and the pair decided that they would be friends. In parting, Laura invited Aaro to go to her place; he agreed and the meeting ended with the kissing.

Aaro and work

Aaro used to work in the police, when his name was "Arto Vanala". Later on, after he went on to become a private detective he changed his name, becoming Aaro Vaalanne. His name became clear to Sauli, when Aaro's former police friend Antero Voima told that. Aaro was in sorting out the disappearance of Katja Vainio employed by Kari Taalasmaa and in that way he met Laura Kiviranta.

Aaro's psyche

Aaro has been portrayed as a character who suffers either from Narcissistic Personality Disorder or even psychopathy. Many other characters in the series have suffered as a result of the tricks and intrigues of Aaro. Specially Laura Kiviranta beared about Aaro, to whom she was going to get married. Aaro trapped Paula Sievinen in a ground cellar, because she threatened to tell about her and Aaro's former relationship to Laura, too.

Eero

Aaro's twin brother Eero has beared about his brother personality. Laura Kiviranta met Eero in the support group of victims of narcissists and believed at first that he was Aaro, because they are identical.
