cities = The A6 highway (locally referred to as the Limassol - Paphos highway, Greek: νέος δρόμος Λεμεσού - Πάφου) marked the ending of an ambitious government project to link all the main cities on the island with modern 4 lane, high speed, highways. It is 66km long and is free of any at-grade intersections. It linksLimassol , the largest port (and second largest city) on the island, andPaphos , the top tourist destination on the island. It was completed in 2006 when thePolemidia and Troodos junction upgrade was completed. It features 2, two-lined 950m tunnels (one at every direction), the only road tunnels on the island, and a 110m tall, 550 long bridge, atPetra Tou Romiou area. Some minor improvements have been made since completion, and many more are being planned. A new highway A7 is planned to linkPaphos andPolis , a small municipality 33km north. It has been said that it will be completed in 2012. The A7 Highway will be connected to the A6 hardly 5km outsidePaphos entrance.
