The Qishla of Jeddah

The Qishla of Jeddah ( _tr. Cidde Redif Kışlası) was built in 1525 to be a military castle of the Ottoman army in Jeddah (nowadays in Saudi Arabia). The building is located in the Old city until now.

Today the small castle is a place to receive requests of youth guys to join the Saudi Army and the other military branches.

"Qishla"(modern Turkish: Kışla) is a Turkish word meaning barracks.
