Chibodee Gals

On the popular television show G Gundam, the Chibodee Gals are a group of four young women who accompany American 13^th Gundam Fight competitor Chibodee Crocket, acting as his partners. The four members are Janet Smith, Shirley Lane, Cath Ronary, and Bunny Higgins.

Appearance

The costumes that the girls wear during Chibodee's battles strongly resemble the costumes worn by Thunderlips' cheering squad [http://www.totalrocky.com/films/rockyiii/photos/hulkgirls.jpg] in the film Rocky III. Otherwise, the girls wear suits during general interactions, though they have been shown to wear combat fatigues when under stress, such as on their sojourn in the Guyana Highlands.

Occupations

The redhead Shirley Lane leads the four, and she and the blonde Janet Smith are responsible for the mechanical upkeep of Neo-America's Gundam Maxter. Dark-skinned Cath Ronary is the medical member of the team, responsible for maintaining Chibodee's health. Finally, glasses-wearing brunette Bunny Higgins is charged with espionage and information gathering. All four girls act as a sort of cheering squad for Chibodee whenever he is fighting a match.

Past Life

The Chibodee Gals were, at one point, hardened criminals. Having been raised in New York City, they committed crimes in order to sustain their lives. At some point during their criminal activity, they were apprehended when they illegally boarded a Colony transport. Upon being apprehended, they were noticed by an up-and-coming Chibodee Crocket, who came up with the idea of employing the girls as his loyal crew. He seems to have the closest relationship with Shirley because when he looked in her eyes when they first met, she had the same spark he had in achieving one's dream.

Character

The Chibodee Gals are fiercely loyal to Chibodee. At one point in the story, when they feel that Chibodee needs to regain his fighting spirit, the girls travel to the Guyana Highlands just to lure Chibodee there so he can train with Domon. They even attempt to copy Shining Gundam's battle data [http://www.tv.com/g-gundam/steal-the-secret!-scheme-of-the-beautiful-warriors/episode/189644/summary.html?tag=ep_list;ep_title;17] out of their determination to see Chibodee succeed. The girls are also willing to commit wrongs, though, as mentioned above, they commit the wrongs for Chibodee's sake.

Trivia

* It could be possible that the basic idea behind the Chibodee Gals, a team of several beautiful female "helper characters," was later re-used in a later Gundam series in the form of the three Astray pilots.

* Similarly, it is possible that Goro Taniguchi, one of the staff behind G Gundam, would later make a mockery of the notion of a small group of young women completely loyal to their male "master" in his later series s-CRY-ed, in the form of the three Tokonatsu Sisters, though this time portrayed in a villainous manner.
