USS "Arch" (AM-144) was an built for the
U.S. Navy duringWorld War II . She was built to clear minefields in offshore waters, and was given to theSoviets under thelend-lease program.She was laid down on
18 October 1942 atTampa, Florida , by theTampa Shipbuilding Co.; launched on7 December 1942 ; sponsored by Mrs. A. M. Kearny; and completed on6 September 1943 .Transfer to the Soviet Union
Transferred to the
USSR under the lend-lease program, she served theSoviet Navy as T-117.Disposition
Never returned to the United States, the minesweeper was carried on the American Navy List as MSF-144 after
7 February 1955 until her name was struck on1 January 1983 . (She had been scrapped by the Russians on19 September 1967 .)References
