Franco Albanelli

Franco Albanelli (August 25, 1933 - July 1, 2007) was an Italian violin maker, a pupil of Gaetano Pollastri.

Albanelli was born in Castel San Pietro, near Bologna. His workmanship has always shown a clear inspiration to the Pollastri style and his instruments are now all around the world.He made not more than 40 instruments, including vey few violas and cellos, and won a Gold medal in Bagnacavallo in the '60s.Mostly red varnish.

He died in San Lazzaro di Savena in 2007.
