Next Polish Presidential Election

The Next Polish Presidential Election will be probably take place in 2010, when five-year terms of current President Lech Kaczyński ended.

However, this date could be just presumed, because if Kaczyński die, resign or be removed from office, the special elections (on new five years term, not a remained of this term) be called and until next President be sworn-in, Sejm Marshal would serve as Acting President.

Former President's won't run

Former President Aleksander Kwaśniewski served two terms and is barred for run again. Kwaśniewski is a still popular figure and would have a significant support if he can run.

Lech Wałęsa, one-term President, who lost re-election in 1995, run again in 2000, but received a little support didn't run in 2005 and probably won't run again.

Two others former Presidents, Wojciech Jaruzelski (served 1989-1990) and Ryszard Kaczorowski (served 1989-1990 in exile) are also technically allowing to run, but this is highly unprobably (Jaruzelski would have 87 years in 2010 and Kaczorowski 91).
