29 September 1983 inHornchurch ,Greater London ) is an English footballer who plays as a defender and can also operate as amidfielder for Bournemouth.Garry was considered a promising prospect out of Arsenal's youth academy, winning the
FA Youth Cup twice. He signed professional terms with Arsenal in July 2001, and his debut performance came against Sunderland onNovember 6 ,2002 in the League Cup. He made his first starting appearance onMay 7 ,2003 against Southampton, playing 90 minutes in a 6–1 win which saw hat-tricks fromRobert Pirès andJermaine Pennant . However, after that he was dogged by long-term injury (shin splints ) and spent most of the next four seasons on the sidelines.He was released by Arsenal at the end of the 2006–07 season, and joined Bournemouth.
