Delta, British Columbia in1983 and currently employs a workforce of roughly 260.The Cambridge plant opened in
1988 , and has been expanded twice since. This was Toyota's second car-assembly plant inNorth America , after the plant inGeorgetown, Kentucky opened in1987 , and the first Toyota assembly plant in Canada. Woodstock's bid reportedly beat out several US states that were offering over twice the subsidies. It is set to produce the RAV4 model, and employ 1,200 people.
