VISIONS Clubhouse

VISIONS Clubhouse

VISIONS Clubhouse offers a structured day program of psychosocial rehabilitation services for adults diagnosed with serious mental illness. The program includes a work-ordered day, educational opportunities, community integration, vocational support and individualized staff services. Clubhouse members are given opportunities to volunteer in all aspects of the program. This clubhouse is built around the The Clubhouse Model of Psychosocial Rehabilitation. VISIONS is operated by the [http://www.rrcsb.org/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx Rappahannock - Rapidan Community Services Board (RRCSB)] .

Program Services and Operating Units

Visions Clubhouse offers psychosocial rehabilitation services designed to:
**Provide a long term support system to help individuals manage mental illness and to facilitate recovery
**Provide peer support
**Provide opportunities for skill development and increased confidence
**Provide support and direction to employment efforts
**Develop constructive leisure activities
**Provide a supportive and restorative environment in which individuals may try various roles and interactions
**Ease the transition of individuals from institutions to the community
**Help mental health consumers gain access to community resources

The clubhouse contains six work units. The members and staff work together side by side in the units to complete daily goals and projects.
**The Food Service Unit provides a free well balanced lunch subsidized by the USDA.
**The Program Support Unit manages the fundraisers, book keeping and membership intake.
**The Communications Unit manages the data entry for billing and develops the bi-monthly newsletter.
**The Maintenance Unit cares for the lawn and general maintenance of the building.
**The Community Interaction Unit coordinates the employment supports and community outings.
**The Directors Unit manages the overall program and develops and monitors the Outcomes Measures to ensure the clubhouse is providing the best services possible.

Employment

VISIONS assists members in identifying their job-readiness skills and finding employment. Clubhouse members are given opportunities for voluntary involvement in all aspects of the program, including planning, operations, and program evaluation. Transitional Employment: Through the Transitional Employment (TE) program, members have the opportunity to be placed in paid, entry-level positions provided in partnership with participating companies. The position is “owned” by the clubhouse. The placement allows a member to ease into the world of work with a direct connection to a job, as well as on the job training and job site visits from Visions placement managers. Typically, a member works in the placement for six and nine months. The member may then move on to other placements until they are ready for a less supported job. And when a member moves to another assignment, Visions trains the replacement. Companies benefit from TE because they find enthusiastic, trained workers at prevailing wages. Additionally, if a member needs to be absent, another member or a staff worker fills in.
