Ironsides is the brother of
Doctor Psycho who described himself as being "as brilliant a geologist as [his brother] was a hypnotist."In search of a volcano that erupted substantial amounts of gold, he discovered such a volcano on the American protectorate Pacific island nation of Wooloo.
In order to secure unfree labor to mine the molten gold and prevent any other party from claiming it, he decked himself and his gang with stilts and armor to become "iron giants," led by himself as "King Ironsides."
A Wooloo chief, stung by the Wooloo-based U.S. military's refusal to intervene, traveled to America and barged into military intelligence HQ, where Diana Prince was the only person fluent in his tongue.
Steve Trevor ,Etta Candy , and the Holliday girls went to investigate. As Steve realized that the iron giants scare could be a set-up for stealing the volcanic gold, Ironsides sprung into action and captured the Holliday girls. Appalled that the Wooloo natives were dying as they mined the volcanic gold, Steve refused to sign a false statement disclaiming the iron giants story and was willing to die for it, but Ironsides threatened the Holliday girls.
Wonder Woman arrived, rescuing the Holliday girls. Subdued by volcanic gases, she eventually released everyone from captivity and unmasked Ironsides, immediately recognizing his relationship with Doctor Psycho.
Powers and abilities
Ironsides was a brilliant geologist and invented the iron giants disguise. He did not, however, display any superpowers.
