Charlotte Devane is a fictional character on the soap opera "All My Children". She was played by Samantha Eggar in 2000.

Character's background

Charlotte made her debut as the head of a spy organization on May 24 2001. Only her captive, Dimitri Marick, saw her at first, but it was eventually revelealed that she was the mother of Dimitri's wife, Alexandra Devane Marick. When Alex and Dimitri's brother, Edmund Grey, were snooping around the sanitarium, Bryn Wydd] , she ordered it's destruction, but was willing to let her daughter live, if they stopped their nosing around in her past. Charlotte followed her daughter back to Pine Valley, but Edmund eventually exposed her as the head of a spy ring. It was Alex who eventually discovered that Charlotte was the one behind everything, and Charlotte revealed that she wasn't Alex's real mother, but in fact her aunt. She had stolen Alex at birth, and Alex was really the twin sister of Anna Devane.

She is guilty of orphaning Gabriel Devane and holding him captive in a cage at Bryn Wydd.
