Eric Von Haessler

Eric Von Haessler

Eric Von Haessler is an American radio host. He is a member of Rock 100.5 in Atlanta's morning show The Regular Guys along with Larry Wachs. The show originated on 96 Rock before the show was cancelled due an on-air stunt in 2004 deemed indecent by Clear Channel Atlanta. He was rehired with partner Larry Wachs at WGST-AM (and later moved back to 96 Rock) in 2005. Their first firing from 96 Rock due to controversy had forced Eric and Larry off the air from early 2004 to early 2005. A new controversy in October 2006 forced the duo off the air yet again. Eric also became known as the Mad Pundit while doing an AM Radio talkshow at WGST-AM. He once belonged to a comedy group known as "Spilt Milk" with Duncan Kennedy, Mark Cooper, and Del Rivers (in Rochester, NY).

2004 Radio Controversy

Following the 2004 controversy over Janet Jackson's exposed breast during the Super Bowl halftime show of that year, Von Haessler and his partner planned a prank that they dubbed "backward smut," in which they would record a sexually explicit conversation with porn star Devinn Lane and later play it backwards on the air. The plan went well until the two accidentally left a microphone on during the following commercial break, in which the two could be heard over the air engaging in sexually explicit conversation during a Honda commercial. The FCC soon received complaints and the two were suspended with pay the following month, after a brief investigation.cite web
