FIRST GRADE DEBUT: Raiders V Brisbane, ANZ Stadium, 2001 (Rd 25)

Troy Thompson has now cemented himself as a vital part of the Canberra Raiders Squad. Off the field Troy has many interests, his most talked about one being his weekly Canberra Times column entitled "Talking With Thommo" which is published every Saturday during the National Rugby League Season.

Troy Thompson is also a very vocal activist in the campaign to reinstate the Giralang Gecko's into the Canberra Raiders Cup. Sadly his campaign generally goes unnoticed.

Outside of Rugby League Thompson is rumoured to be heavily involved in politics and is understood to be preparing himself for a bid to become the Youngest Chief Minister in A.C.T Government history. Insiders claim that Thompson is being groomed to make a run at the 2016 Elections. The Troy Thompson Better Future For Canberra Party will attempt to field candidates in all 3 electorates in 2012. There they hope to secure 2 or 3 seats which will allow Marquee candidate Thompson to push the party over the line by hopefully claiming a majority in the 2016 polls.

In other news, A fantastic display by Troy in the Round 3 win over the St George Illawarra Dragons has seen him avoid the dreaded "Crumb Cutlet" for the 2008 season.
