"Back Street" is a 1932 film made by Universal Pictures, directed by John M. Stahl, and produced by Carl Laemmle Jr.. The screenplay was written by Gladys Lehman based on novel by Fannie Hurst. The film stars Irene Dunne and John Boles.

Plot

Based on a best-selling novel by Fannie Hurst, Back Street concerns an ill-starred couple, Rae (Irene Dunne) and Walter (John Boles). This was the first of three film versions of Hurst's story; remakes were released in 1941 and 1961.
